Each boost session is one or more weeks and will be tailored to meet the needs of students. An assessment/screening is required to ensure your child is placed in the right group.

Literacy Boost 

Multisensory structured literacy designed for beginning readers and writers in grades K-2. Instruction will focus on building foundational literacy skills, such as handwriting, encoding, decoding, phonemic awareness. Games will be incorporated to enhance learning.

Literacy Boost

Multisensory Structured Literacy designed for students in grades 3-5. Emphasis on developing stronger reading skills through engaging Orton-Gillingham based lessons. Students will practice decoding and reading fluency daily, enhancing their vocabulary and reading comprehension. By the end of this workshop, students will have more confidence and a joy for reading.

Literacy Boost

Multisensory Structured literacy designed for students in grades 4-6. Emphasis on developing stronger writing abilities and sentence development through interactive, and fun lessons. Vocabulary and Reading will also be addressed, and we will pay close attention to organizational and executive functioning skills  as core components to effectively express oneself through writing.

Vocabulary and Spelling Boost
Structured Word Inquiry

Structured literacy instruction with an emphasis on morphology (meaning of word parts). Students entering grades 5-7 will learn about common latin roots, prefixes and suffixes to enhance their vocabulary, spelling and reading comprehension.

Executive Functioning Skills

This short intensive boost session builds executive functioning skills for students in grades 4-6. Students will practice strategies to self-regulate and develop time management, planning , prioritizing and organization skills. Throughout each daily session, participants will build confidence, compassion and social-emotional skills as they work independently and together.

  • Who is this for?
    Students entering grades 1 - 7 Students who may need additional review and practice of specific and essential skills with one or more of the following: Handwriting Phonemic and phonological awareness Spelling Sentence Development and Writing Fluency Decoding Reading (fluency and comprehension) Morphology Executive functioning skills Self advocacy skills areas of executive functioning, literacy, and social-emotional growth Students who benefit from small group and specialized instruction Students who may need a confidence boost and will benefit from receiving support in a safe and nurturing environment
  • Approach
    Mindful and Systematic Using multisensory structured instruction, lessons are tailored to meet the needs of each indidivudal child. Designed to help students with executive functioning and especially confidence Each BOOST session is limited to a small number of participants so that the student to teacher ratio does not exceed 4:1. Our small group model and carefully crafted lessons provide an excellent opportunity for individualized and specialized instruction to meet the needs of each child in a therapeutic and mindful way. Provides an opportunity to make new friends and build confidence Lessons are engaging and fun!
  • How do I sign up?
    First submit the initial registration form. We will follow up with you to confirm availability and to discuss additional logistics. A nonrefundable deposit of 50% per session fee is due by April 10. Remaining balance is due by May 1.
  • How do I know if a workshop is right for my child?
    The first step is to complete the registration form. We can then schedule a call to see if this is the right fit.
  • How much does it cost?
    Costs vary depending on the workshop, how many sessions you sign up for and number of participants. Financial Assistance / Sliding scale is offered for those in need.
  • What if we cannot sign up for a camp and still want to schedule sessions?
    In addition to our summer boost sessions, we are also available to work with students and families privately throughout the summer and school year, including weekends.
  • About Us
    Educational Specialists and Consultants serving Bay Area students, families, professionals and schools for over 20 years. We specialize in learning differences (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD), executive functioning, reading, writing, math, school placement and social-emotional skills, supporting students kindergarten through college privately and in small groups.

    Summer program that focuses on developing literacy skills through the integration of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as Executive Functioning skills and Confidence!
